A Garden in Abergavenny
This garden in Abergavenny had wonderful views and a lot of sun. It was fairly steeply sloping except for the area in front of the double doors. The clients wanted a sitting area in maximum sun, big enough to eat with friends and family. This involved raising an area on a timber retaining wall cut into the bank. A similar but smaller seating area was built at the highest end of the garden givving the best views. The steep slope behind the curved steps is planted with bulbs which flower succesionally from January to June. The grass is then strimmed.
Two mature hawthorne trees were planted at the lower end of the garden to partially block the view of the neighbour's rooves.
